Hey there! I'm Katie Vollmer, the heart behind Beauty & the Beach. With over 20 years in the makeup and hair industry, my journey began with a love for all things beachy and beautiful.
I founded Beauty & the Beach back in 2005, blending my passion for natural beauty with my deep love of the ocean – hence the name! I hold a BA in Art from Cal State Long Beach, am certified by the prestigious Makeup Designory (MUD) in LA, and I am a licensed esthetician.
At Beauty & the Beach, we're all about letting your inner glow take center stage. Our specialty lies in creating fresh, radiant skin and effortless hair that enhances your unique beauty. Whether it's your big day or just a day to feel amazing, our approach to soft glam is all about making you feel like the best version of yourself.
And speaking of what's close to my heart, faith is a big part of my journey. It inspires everything I do, from helping clients shine with confidence to cherishing the beauty of life's moments. I am always trying to shine the love of Christ and when it comes to hair and makeup I want "you" to shine through!

Having perfect hair and make-up for my wedding was an absolute must, and thanks to Katie it happened! Katie and her team were amazing to work with! Katie listened to everything I wanted, even my weird request for no eyeshadow, and I was so happy that on my wedding day, I felt beautiful. My inspiration was Brigitte Bardot and Katie clearly got it! As you know, trusting someone with hair and make-up on your wedding is a big task, and trusting Katieand her talent made it that much less stressful! I also had extensions and really wanted to make sure they blended perfectly with my hair and it stayed perfect throughout the entire night-even through the dancing! Also, my bridesmaid's hair and make-up was perfection, they all were happy with what Katie and her team did. Beauty & the Beach was one of the first vendors I booked when I was planning my wedding because they did my hair and make-up when I was a bridesmaid for a friends wedding. Right away I felt the love from Katie and I was so excited to use them for my own wedding. The day of my wedding went so smooth. Katie and her team showed up on time and was ready to go. They kept on schedule even when a few extra people decided they wanted make-up last minute. Everyone was over the moon for their hair and make-up. I booked Mariah to do my bridal hair and makeup also my 5 bridesmaids and mom. The outcome was amazing! She showed up on time with another girl who was also very talented and super friendly. Katie did a BEAUTIFUL job for my and my bridesmaids' hair & makeup. I needed 9 hair, 3 makeup, and hair&makeup for the bride and they did everything super fast and everyone looked amazing!! I got so many compliments on my updo (beautiful bun on the side with braids). I loved how natural she made my makeup look. Airbrush covered all blemishes on my face and made me look like my skin was super soft and healthy. Thank you for allowing me to feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I can't believe her prices are so affordable because the quality of her work is OUTSTANDING :)
